Four hurt in attack on army convoy

MIRAMSHAH (North Waziristan), July 22: Four soldiers were wounded when an army convoy was struck by a remote-controlled device near Chashma Bridge here on Friday, officials said. The convoy of about 40 vehicles was going to Bannu from North Waziristan Agency when it was attacked, causing injuries to Subedar Reyasat, Havaldar Sher Haidar and sepoys Atique and Anwar.

Commandant of paramilitary forces in Miramshah Waheed Bangash and assistant political officer Humayun along with heavy contingents of Khasadar Force and Tochi Scouts rushed to the site soon after the incident.

The army soldiers and paramilitary personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search for the perpetrators of the blast but failed to arrests anyone.

The wounded soldiers were taken to Bannu in a helicopter.
