SIALKOT, July 22: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Friday observed a protest day against raids on seminaries in Sialkot and Narowal districts. Ulema belonging to all schools of thought in their Juma sermons condemned the raids and criticized the government. They claimed that the raids were conducted to appease the UK and the US. They denied that seminaries were involved in promoting extremism or terrorism.

The ulema asked the rulers to stop raiding seminaries as the step was earning bad name for the country. — Correspondent
