Liquor from Chinese container seized

ISLAMABAD, July 22: The customs authorities have seized huge quantity of Chinese liquor, a spokesman said here on Friday. The spokesman said Collector Customs, Islamabad and Northern Areas, Nasiruddin Mehboob had received information that a container which arrived at Sost customs station from Kashghar probably contained liquor.

A team was constituted that waited at the station to nab the claimers of the container but no one approached it, he added.

Later, the authorities seized the container and recovered 1,988 bottles of arak, 6,885 bottles of beer and 9,935 bottles of wine.—Staff Reporter
