SARGODHA: Thousands of acres of land in Bhera, Shahpur and Sahiwal tehsils were submerged by waters of the Jhelum.

Reports said 110,000 cusec water was released from Mangla Dam which raised the flow of water in the river as a result crops spreading over swathes of land in several villages were damaged. A number of residential colonies are facing flood threat.

The district administration has directed the inhabitants along the bank of the Jhelum to vacate the area.
