LAHORE, July 18: The Lahore High Court on Monday sent the Motra SHO to jail after he was produced in the court by an ASP. The SHO had been failing to appear in the court in connection with a writ petition moved by Sajida Perveen, who had levelled criminal charges against police. The court directed the Sialkot DPO to get a criminal case registered against the SHO and produce him in the court. The ASP produced the SHO in plainclothes, while he was handcuffed.

Meanwhile, Justice Syed Shabbar Raza Razvi sought a report from the Layyah district officer in a writ petition against an inspector, Malik Nasir Mazhar, who was accused by a pesticides dealer of intimidating him and his nephew Rafiq.

The court ordered the inspector to personally appear on July 28.
