PESHAWAR, June 17: Hundreds of local leaders and workers of the Awami National Party (ANP) announced joining of the Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) at the People’s Houses here on Sunday, said a press release.

Federal Interior Minister and chief of his own faction of the PPP, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, who was present on the occasion, welcomed the decisions of former ANP leaders and workers and assured them his support to solve problems of the masses and raising the standard of their living.

The government had taken several steps for the development of rural areas, he said and added that the joining of ANP workers to PPP (Sherpao) was a good example of confidence reposed by them in his party.

He promised that the government would soon provide Sui gas facility to the Dhaki area in Charsadda district.

He advised the party workers to show unity in their ranks during the forthcoming local body elections and give priority to the party policies rather than personal gains.

Meanwhile, Mr Sherpao visited Khyali, Haji Zai, Dalazak, Sarwani, Katozai, Adizai and several other flood effected villages of Charsadda district on Sunday.
