Two die, 18 hurt on road

SAHIWAL, July 16: As many as two people died and 18 others were injured in a head-on collision between a wagon and a bus near Harappa bypass on Saturday. Reports said the Multan-bound bus (LRP-2276) collided with a wagon (LPT-2678) coming from opposite direction, resulting in death of two unidentified passengers, while the injured included, Danial, Sajjad, Hamid, Dilber, Muhammad Tufail and others.

Harappa police have registered the case.

Reports said a tractor-trolley (PK-1450) carrying a marriage party overturned on Friday afternoon near Jahan Khan village on Pakpattan road. As a result, two guests Faisal and Hadayat were killed, while seven others injured.

Similarly, a tractor-trolley (SLD 1837) hit a motorcyclist, Ahmed Din, who died on the spot. Police have registered the cases.

In another accident on the GT Road near Chak 112/12-L, an oil tanker (Karachi LBT-7295) ran over two cyclists, killing one Ishaq on the spot and seriously injuring Nadeem.
