TIMERGARA: Lower Dir Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has said that a detailed report about construction of the Chakdara bypass road’s western side had been sent to the provincial secretary communication and works department for final approval and that the project would be complete in two years.
Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, he said PC-1 of the six-kilometre-long road had been prepared by the executive engineer of the communication and works department, according to which, the project would be built in 24 months at a cost of Rs356 million.
Mr Yousafzai said Rs30 million were earlier allocated for the project which was lying unspent as no PC-1 was approved. He said the construction of Chakdara bypass road would ease traffic mess in the district.
The deputy commissioner said the PC-1 of the Sanam Dam in Asbanr Adenzai had also been prepared, adding the project would cost Rs714 billion and irrigate most of agricultural land in Adenzai.
BUTCHERS ARRESTED: Seven butchers were arrested for violating official pricelist and overcharging commuters during Ramazan in Balambat and were sent to Timergara jail the other day.
The deputy commissioner also paid a surprise visit to the district jail Timargara along with additional deputy commissioner Mohammad Irshad Khan and checked the facilities there.
He expressed satisfaction over the food and medical facilities available to the inmates.
Also, assistant commissioner, Adenzai, Mohammad Suhaib Butt along with other officials visited the Chakdara Ramazan bazaar. The TMA has provided the land for Ramazan bazaar, while no rent is being imposed on owners of stalls of vegetables, fruits and other commodities.
The officials checked rates, cleanliness and quality of different food items.
Talking to journalists, Mr Butt said that setting up of Ramazan bazaars was an appreciable step of the government.
He said residents could get quality food items at lower rates at these bazaars.
