HYDERABAD, July 14: The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, and the University of Karachi will jointly organize a four-day international conference on “Sindh vision and envision” in February 2006 in Karachi. The prime minister will be invited to inaugurate the conference and the senate chairman will be the chief guest on its closing day.

In this connection, a meeting of the subject committee comprising scholars and intellectuals was held here on Wednesday. University of Sindh vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui presided over the meeting which was attended by scholars and writers Dr Ghulam Ali Allana, Mazhar Jamil, Muslim Shamim, Qamar Shahbaz, Hameed Sindhi, Agha Saleem and others.

On a recommendation of Dr Allana, the meeting decided that during three days of the conference, in addition to the inaugural session, nine sessions would be held on culture, heritage and literature and language.

On the first day of the conference, three sessions will be held on history, archaeology, anthropology, culture and heritage. On the second day, three sessions will be held on Sindhi language and literature beyond borders and the second session will be held on contribution of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast, Sami, Mirza Qaleech, Shaikh Ayaz and Narain Sham. The third session of the second day will be held on the role of print and electronic media.
