Two dacoits killed in ‘encounter’

LAHORE, July 13: Two dacoits of Bosan gang wanted in a number of criminal cases were killed during an ‘encounter’ with Rajanpur police in Burshubaabad Riverine area. A Punjab police spokesman told this agency here on Wednesday that a team was busy in patrolling the riverine area of Mithon Kot police station. On seeing the police party, the criminals opened fire on them. The policemen also returned fire.

As a result of which Ghulam Husain received severe bullet injuries and died instantly. Another dacoit Ghaus Bakhush received serious injuries and died before reaching hospital.

The police have recovered two kalashnikovs, one motorcycle and four mobiles phones from their possession.

The criminals were wanted in 19 cases, including dacoity, murder and kidnapping for ransom. —APP
