ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: National Kashmir Committee (NKC) Chairman Sardar Abdul Qayyum said there is no place in Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir for a diversion.
Speaking in PTV programme ‘News Night’ late on Friday, he said Pakistan’s support to legitimate struggle of Kashmiris was based on principle which would remain the same in all circumstances.
But the way this principle stand had been pursued in the past remained contradictory, he said.
He said certain steps taken by President Gen Pervez Musharraf were important and now Pakistan’s position in handling the Kashmir policy remained no more the apologetic at any front.
Mr Qayyum said the Kashmir committee would make all out efforts including media and diplomatic campaign to effectively project the Kashmir cause at international fora for its settlement.
He said war would never solve this dispute between Indian and Pakistan. Both the countries had to come on a dialogue table for discussion, he added.
New Delhi had also requested for the membership of the OIC claiming that India was harbouring the biggest Muslim population than elsewhere in the world, he said.
The committee would remove the influence of such misleading Indian propaganda by bringing factual position in light, he said.—APP
