KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) clinched comprehensive victories on day four of the second Inter-departmental T20 Women’s Cricket Championship at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad on Sunday.

In the first match, SBP trounced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) XI by nine wickets.

After being put into bat, PCB XI managed a dismal 81 all out in 19.4 overs with Areeb Shamim unable to continue her innings as she retired hurt after scoring 13, while Rameen Shamim and Kainat Hafeez both made 17 apiece.

Aliya Riaz, who was later declared player-of-the-match, and Sadia Yousuf equally shared four wickets between them.

SBP then rode on opener Ayesha Zafar’s undefeated knock of 47 from 57 deliveries with five boundaries to reach 82-1 in the 15th over. Sidra Amin also returned undefeated with a 28-ball 27 that included three fours.

ZTBL, meanwhile, whipped Higher Education Commission (HEC) by 76 runs. Having opted to bat first, the bankers collected 184-5. Nahida Bibi was the top-scorer with a breezy 53 from 35 balls (seven fours).

Muneeba Ali also batted briskly to strike five fours and a brace of sixes in her 31-ball innings of 47, while all-rounder Kainat Imtiaz blasted 45 without being dismissed as she adorned her 30-ball effort with three fours and one six.

HEC’s response was terminated at 108 in 19.4 overs with only Tooba Hasan offering resistance with a 33-ball 37 (two boundaries).

Almas Akram and Maham Manzoor claimed three wickets each for 11 and 18 runs, respectively before Nahida was named player-of-the-match.

Sunday’s results:

ZTBL beat HEC by 76 runs.

ZTBL 184-5 in 20 overs (Nahida Bibi 53, Muneeba Ali 47, Kainat Imtiaz 45 not out); HEC 108 in 19.4 overs (Tooba Hasan 37; Almas Akram 3-11, Maham Manzoor 3-18).

SBP beat PCB XI by nine wickets.

PCB XI 81 in 19.4 overs (Rameen Shamim 17 not out, Kainat Hafeez 17; Aliya Riaz 2-12, Sadia Yousuf 2-13); SBP 82-1 in 14.4 overs (Ayesha Zafar 47 not out, Sidra Amin 27 not out).
