TOBA TEK SINGH, July 10: Punjab Forest Minister Dr Ashfaqur Rehman has claimed that Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has approved the candidature of his brother-in-law Col Naveed Gill (retired) for the Toba district nazim’s slot.
Talking to reporters at the Civil Rest House here, the minister also claimed that seven out of nine ruling party parliamentarians in the district were backing the nomination of Naveed Gill.
He said in a recently-held meeting in Lahore, the chief minister had informed participants that a disciplinary action would be taken against those who would not accept the party decision in accordance with the support of local council election candidates.

Meanwhile, Dr Ashfaq and Naveed Gill have announced the launching of the campaign for PML candidates for the seats of nazim, naib nazim and councillors in district’s all union councils.
