MULTAN, July 10: Former president Sardar Farooq Leghari and ex-caretaker premier Mir Balkh Sher Mazari have expressed dissatisfaction over the official flood relief measures in Rajanpur district. In a joint statement issued here on Sunday, the two tribal bigwigs demanded that army should be called in Rajanpur for the flood relief operation as the civil administration had failed completely to deliver.
They said the incidents of snake-biting had increased in the flood-hit areas of the district while anti-venom vaccine was not available. They said relief camps in Dera and Rajanpur were working only in official documents as on ground such facilities did not exist.
They also expressed their no-confidence over the police performance saying the law enforcers had miserably failed to protect life and property of flood victims especially in the riverine belt.
Sardar Leghari and Sardar Mazari also visited the flood-hit areas of Rajanpur and Rojhan along with Federal Minister Awais Ahmed Leghari and others.
