BUDAPEST, July 7: Two of Budapest’s largest shopping centres were evacuated on Thursday due to bomb threats just hours after suspected terror attacks in London, officials said.

Reuters reporters saw hundreds of people calmly leaving the two centres while police were searching the area. The government and the police have called a news conference for 1330 GMT.

Bomb threats are frequent in Budapest but so far all of them have proved to be hoaxes.

There were also unconfirmed reports in local media that a third big shopping centre was also being evacuated. —Reuters
