KARAK: Latamber Qaumi Jirga has expressed concern over worsening law and order in the area and asked the district police officer to take measures to improve the situation.

The demand was made at a meeting held here on Monday with its president Sawab Khan in the chair. Karak tehsil nazim Haji Abdul Wahab, Latamber Gharbi village nazim Ahmad Nawaz, and local elders were in attendance.

The speakers criticised SHO Latamber police station Rajab Ali and alleged that a murder had taken place within yards of the police station but the perpetrators managed to escape from the crime scene, showing utter failure of the police.

The elders stressed the need for revival of the Chegha party as the police had failed to provide security to the people.

The speakers also accused some local people of allegedly supporting the criminals. They said those who dared to raise voice against them were threatened with consequences.

The meeting decided to call another meeting next Sunday to chalk out a future line of action. The meeting also passed a resolution, demanding immediate transfer of SHO Rajab Ali.

JI REORGANISATION: Jamaat-i-Islami, Karak chapter, has decided to reorganise the party at the district level by bringing all the old and ideological workers back into the party fold.

This was disclosed by the party’s city president Gul Mohammad while talking to reporters on Monday. He said the workers who had left JI would be persuaded back into the party. He said there was an urgent need to bring the sidelined office-bearers and workers back into the party.

The JI city president claimed they had already held meetings with them and tried to resolve their genuine grievances.

Mr Gul said the party had already formed a committee for the purpose which would also hold meetings with the workers of other parties to invite them to the party fold.
