SHIKARPUR, July 3: Two people were shot dead and five others were injured by burglars in Jafri village near Mari Sharif, some 4km off here, on Saturday night. Eight armed men broke into homes of Mohammad Siddiq and Miran Bakhsh. On resistance by the occupants, the bandits opened fire.

As a result, Siddiq and Miran were killed, while two women and three children sustained injuries. The culprits escaped.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
