QUETTA, July 1: Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that opposition parties should forge unity on a one-point agenda of forcing the government to establish an independent election commission to ensure transparent and fair polls. Speaking to members of the Balochistan Bar Association (BBA) on Friday, he said without real democracy, independent judiciary and free election commission, there would be no improvement in political culture of the country.

He criticized a recent increase in oil prices and said the government used revenue generated from taxes on oil, gas and electricity to fulfil non-development expenditures.

The Tehrik-i-Insaf chief denounced the government’s economic policies, saying they had increased price hike, unemployment and poverty.
