Expat donates Rs50m for angiography machine

TOBA TEK SINGH: An angiography machine and a catheterisation laboratory were inaugurated by a philanthropist in cardiology care unit, being run by Khidmat-i-Kalaq committee, a non-government organisation, at the DHQ Hospital.

A press release on Thursday said expatriate Chaudhry Taj Muhammad had donated Rs50m for purchase of the angiography machine.

Addressing on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ahmad Khawar Shahzad, MPA Saeed Ahmad Saeedi and former district Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq lauded Mr Taj Muhammad for providing funds for angiography machine for the heart patients who had to travel to Faisalabad for the purpose earlier.

ROBBERIES: Robbers looted two departmental stores at Gojra.

Ashraf, owner of a super store in Madni Town, informed Gojra City police three men on a motorcycle reached there. They held him and his salesmen hostage and took away Rs70,000, mobile phone sets and other valuables from them at gunpoint.

On Gojra-Moongi road, a store owned by Liaqat Ali, was also robbed by reportedly the same three motorcyclists. The robbers took away Rs85,000 and mobile phone sets from owner and his employees.

In another incident on the Gojra-Toba Road, three motorcyclists intercepted one Kashif and his wife, residents of Chak 181-G, who were travelling on a motorcycle near Gojra city and snatched Rs32,000 cash, an ATM card, mobile phone sets and motorcycle from them.
