KARACHI, June 28: A Boeing 767 of the Royal Brunei Airline made an emergency landing at the Karachi Airport after one of its two engines failed on Tuesday. Aviation sources told Dawn that the flight (RBA-084), carrying 261 passengers on board, gave an emergency call with engine failure to Karachi Air Traffic Control. The plane was flying 200 nautical miles south of Karachi.
They said the aircraft, which was flying from Sharjah to Brunei, was efficiently guided by the radar area controller, which gave the pilot a direct route and priority landing. The aircraft landed at the airport safely around 7:45am, the sources added.
They said the flight left for its destination at 12:35pm after the fault in the engine was removed.
