US grant for PRL

ISLAMABAD, June 28: The US Trade and Development Agency here on Tuesday awarded a $400,000 grant to Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) to help improve environmental standards.

The grant, which was conferred at a signing ceremony here at the US embassy, would be used to partially fund a feasibility study of PRL’s planned upgrades at its Karachi refinery, stated an official announcement issued by the US embassy here on Tuesday.

US Ambassador to Pakistan Ryan C. Crocker signed the grant agreement on behalf of the US government, while Mohammad Akram Peracha, PRL operations manager, signed the agreement on behalf of the PRL.
