FAISALABAD: Up to 12 workers were injured on Tuesday when the boiler of a bread factory exploded in Ayub Colony on Jhang Road. Workers were busy in work when the explosion occurred and the roof of the factory caved in. Labourers and Rescue 1122 personnel carried out the rescue work and shifted the injured to the Allied and District Headquarters hospitals where the condition of three labourers was stated to be serious.

Deputy Commissioner Saifullah Dogar also visited the site and said an inquiry committee, headed by the additional commissioner, would look into the matter. The explosion site has been sealed. The Allied Hospital administration said the labourers suffered burn injuries.
