GWADAR: Vice chancellor of Turbat University Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah believed education has a key role in protecting the country’s independence as well as developing individual’s character.

While speaking at a function organised on the eve of 143rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation on Tuesday, the vice chancellor said Quaid-i-Azam had a vibrant vision regarding the education system that could meet contemporary needs of the era.

Dr Sabir said that the world was progressing so fast that if the youth did not educate themselves they would be unable to survive. This way education was a matter of life and death for the nation, he said, adding that Quaid-i-Azam had emphasised that there would be complete darkness without education.

Highlighting the need for following the teachings of the Father of the Nation, the vice chancellor emphasised that people should never forget the principles of unity, faith and discipline and should work for the development and prosperity of the motherland.

Quaid-i-Azam believed that the success of a nation relied upon the fact how educated its citizens were, he said.Teachers and political leaders also spoke on the occasion.

A function was also held at the Gwadar campus of the Turbat University.
