LAHORE, June 26: Two people reportedly died from dehydration in the city on Sunday due to heat and humidity. Police said Muhammad Yaqoob, 60, collapsed on his way home in Samanabad, while another man, about 50, unidentified so far, fell down and died in Lytton Road police area.

Meanwhile, sultry weather is likely to continue over Punjab plains during the next 24 hours, according to meteorological experts here, reports APP.

“There is possibility of respite only after the beginning of monsoon which is likely to set in by the first week of next month,” chief meteorologist Shaukat Ali Awan said.

Dust storm and light rain have been forecast for northern Punjab.

Maximum temperature recorded in different towns on Sunday was: Islamabad 43 degrees C, DG Khan 43.4, Jhelum 41, Bahawalpur 42.2, Khanpur 42.8, Sialkot 37.8, Multan 43, Sargodha 46, Rahim Yar Khan 43, Sahiwal 44, Bahawalnagar 44.5 and Lahore (airport) 37 degrees C.
