KARACHI: Mazhar Hayat and Ahsan Siddiq registered contrasting victories in the mens singles event on the opening day of the Afeef Trophy Ranking Tennis Championship being played at the Union Cooperative Club on Saturday.

In the under-17 singles, M Sarib beat Naveed in straight sets while in the under-15 singles event, M Yahya and Ghuffran Faiz beat their rivals.

U -13 Singles (1st Round): Dhuraf Das bt Affan Rehan 7-5, 7-4; M Bilal Raza bt M Usman 6-4, 4-6, 8-10

U -13 Singles (2nd Round): Yousaf Haleem bt Ibrahim Qureshi 6-0 6-0.
