BAHAWALPUR, June 24: The disruption in the power supply continued on Friday at a number of localities, including Satellite Town, making lives of the people miserable. Owing to frequent tripping and breakdowns, consumers had to face inconvenience in the scorching heat. The people had to offer Juma prayers without electricity.
FOUR KILLED: Four people, including two girls, were killed in different incidents here on Friday.
Three people shot dead donkey-cart owner Karim Buksh in revenge. Police said that Ramzan had murdered Manzoor Ahmed, the son of Allah Wasay, some time back. On Friday, Ramzan’s father was going to Basti Sahlan, when Ghulam Farid, Noor Ahmed and their accomplice shot dead Karim Buksh.
Sadar police have registered a case against the accused.
Two brothers, Mureed Husain and Muhammad Hanif, tortured one Muhammad Ramzan on suspicion of having relations with their sister. The injured was rushed to hospital where he died.
Police claimed to have arrested both the accused.
Bakhtawar Mai (9) was knocked down and killed by a speeding trailer at One-Unit Chowk.
Baghdadul Jadid police have registered a case against the absconding driver.
A 12-year-old daughter of one Abdullah Khan died of snake bite at Mauza Tibbi Data Khan near Mubarakpur.
PROTESTED: Former PPP MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Rauf Khalid protested against the registration of a fabricated case against him by Kichiwala police station, Bahawalnagar district.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, Mr Khalid alleged that he was being politically victimized.
He further alleged that Bahawalnagar district nazim Ali Akbar Waince had implicated him in a false case with the connivance of federal minister Chaudhry Ijazul Haq.
