Call for making registration of seminaries easier

TIMERGARA: Wafaqul Madaris Al-Arabia’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has demanded of the government to remove hurdles to the registration of religious seminaries in the country and make the process easier.

The demand was made during a ‘Peegham-i-Madaris’ conference held at Jamia Farooqia, Hajiabad, in Lower Dir on Thursday night. Provincial nazim of the federation Maulana Hussain Ahmad, Maulana Khalid Khan, JI former district chief Maulana Asadullah and JUI-F leader Qazi Fazlullah addressed the conference which was attended by political workers, seminary students and prayer leaders.

Mr Ahmad said that seminaries played a vital role in religious education which could not be ignored. He said that all rulers raised the slogan of uniform education system in Pakistan to appease the western powers. He said that both the education systems had their own importance and utilisation. He said that the Higher Education Commission was looking after education in colleges and universities, while Wafaqul Madaris did that job for seminaries.

He said that about 2.6 million students were getting religious education under the Wafaqul Madaris board in the country.

PROTEST ENDS: The Osakhels ended their protest camp outside the office of Lower Dir deputy commissioner after successful negotiations held with the district administration.

Additional deputy commissioner Mohammad Irshad Khan, MPA Shafiullah Khan, district nazim Mohammad Rasool Khan and councillor Alamzeb were also present on the occasion.
