Patrol posts go into operation

LAHORE, June 21: The newly established 60 patrol posts formally started functioning on Tuesday in 11 different districts of the province for maintaining law and order. Highway patrolling DIG Syed Saqlain Naqvi told APP that 10 posts each in Faisalabad and Jhang, one in Lahore, three in Gujranwala, four each in Gujrat, DG Khan, Khanewal, Gujrat, two in Narowal, six in Sahiwal, nine in Bahawalpur and seven in Muzaffargarh had gone into operation.

He said that one SI, two ASIs, three head constables and 18 constables in wireless-fitted jeeps had started round-the-clock patrolling in their respective areas.

He said the Punjab police chief had directed all DIGs and DPOs to pay surprise visits to these posts and monitor their overall performance.—APP
