JHANG, June 17: A housewife allegedly committed suicide after throwing her children into the Haveli Canal on Thursday. It is learnt that Hafeezan of Qasimabad, a colony in the suburbs of Shorkot, was leading a troubled married life. She had a quarrel with her husband, Hakim Khalid, who scolded her for not preparing meal in time.

Hafeezan left the house along with her children — Iram, 9, Ghulam Shabbir, 7, and a six-month-old — and jumped into the Trimmu-Sidhnai Link Haveli Canal. When they did not return home, a search was started.

In the meanwhile, the body of Iram was found from the canal a few yards away while the body of Hafeezan was found near Abdul Hakim Town, 50 kilometres downstream.

The search was on for the two remaining children’s bodies till the filing of this report on Friday.

KIDNAP: The mystery of kidnap for ransom of the president of Anjuman Tajran, Shaheed Road, Saddar, Sheikh Haq Nawaz, was solved when he returned home after his release from the custody of a sensitive agency.

Jhang city police had registered a kidnap for ransom case against former president of the Anjuman, Sheikh Asif, and 18 others.
