PAF go top in PPFL

LAHORE: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) moved provisionally three points clear at the top of the Pakistan Premier Football League with a 2-0 win over Ashraf Sugar Mills as its second phase began at the Punjab Stadium here on Thursday.

Mansoor Khan gave PAF the lead with a 32nd-minute goal with Mohammad Mujahid sealing the win five minutes past the hour mark.

PAF moved to 14 points from six matches and are one point ahead of Wapda who overcame Pakistan Navy 4-2 in a thriller in the day’s other game thanks to a hat-trick by Faheem Ahmed.

K-Electric, who have a game in hand over PAF and Wapda, have 11 points.

Faheem’s 15th-minute penalty saw Wapda take the lead and he doubled the advantage in the 57th. Mohammad Amin reduced the arrears three minutes later but Wapda went 3-1 up in the 64th through Adnan Saeed. Saddam got Navy back into the game with a 73rd-minute penalty with Faheem ensuring three points for his side in the 80th.
