KARACHI, June 13: Two persons, including a teenager, died in road accidents in different parts of the city on Monday. Police said that Muhammad Akhtar, 17, a junk dealer, was crossing the main Sharea Faisal pushing his cart when a speeding minibus of D-7 route knocked him down. He was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead. His brother, who was also accompanying him, escaped the accident with minor injuries.
Police said the errant driver escaped following the accident.
In another hit-and-run accident, a motorcyclist died and his pillion rider was injured in Karimabad late on Sunday night.
Police said that Tassaduq Husain, 35, and his associate Muhammad Saeed, 30, were on their motorcycle when it was hit by a speeding vehicle. They were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Husain was pronounced dead while Saeed was provided treatment.
