HYDERABAD, June 10: Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has criticized the arrest of party activists in Karachi in what he called under an unannounced operation.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, he identified some of the arrested activists as Bashir Sodhar, Leemon Gabol, Mohammad Ali Sodhar, Murad and Siddique.
He accused the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Sindh government, the home minister, home secretary and DSP Chaudhry Aslam of committing inhuman excesses against the Sindhis in Karachi.
He said the MQM had received a jolt after the STPP protest in Sindh against demolition of Sindhi villages in Karachi, issuing of NICs to illegal aliens, opening of the Khokhrapar route and division of Hyderabad district.
He said for that reason the government had launched an unannounced operation to crush workers of his party.
He alleged the task to victimise party workers had been entrusted to DSP Chaudhry Aslam.
Dr Qadir Magsi warned that consequences would be disastrous if any harm came to the arrested party activists who were being held incommunicado.
