Brexit referendum

THE Brexit referendum will always be looked upon as one of the peculiar referendums for many reasons. One recalls, as soon as the results were announced in March 2017, questions immediately arose as to why it was even called in the first place.

People on both sides of the sharply divisive decision started to ponder upon many questions including how the decision to leave the EU was going to benefit the United Kingdom. Millions of people raised their voice and made a call to hold another referendum immediately after the results were announced as the media painted a gloomy picture about the UK’s future.

It appears the uncertainty persists and is getting stronger. The leaders who campaigned against ‘remain-in’ started to backtrack almost immediately on their promises after the referendum results and many either quit or were forced to leave office. This process it seems has not stopped.

The Brexit issue remains a dilemma for the UK while time is fast running out.
