Caretaker CM reviews polling arrangements in meeting held at CM House

Caretaker Sindh CM Fazlaur Rehman reviewed arrangements and facilities being made for polling stations across the province in a high-level meeting held at CM House today.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary retired Major Azam Suleman, IG Police Amjad Javed Saleemi, Senior Member Board of Revenue Iqbal Durani, Principal Secretary to CM Sohail Rajput and Secretary Home Mohammad Haroon.

The above mentioned reported visiting almost all the districts and all the 'highly sensitive' and 'improvised' polling stations and making all the necessary arrangements as per the ECP's requirement.

Chief Secretary Suleman said there are 5,878 'highly sensitive' polling station all over Sindh in which 20165 booths have been set up.

“As per the cabinet's decision, CCTV cameras have been installed there,” he said and added that 21,000 cameras installed at polling stations have been tested for smooth and sound functioning.

Talking about 307 improvised polling stations, Suleman said that they have been provided with mobile wash room facilities, generators, UPS, LEDs and other such facilities.

IGP Saleemi told the chief minister that there was zero tolerance for miscreants and those who were trying to disrupt the election process.

“Police have arrested 2,185 troublemakers so far and this intolerance would extend to all those who try to take the law into their own hands,” he said.
