PESHAWAR, Jan 9: A new digital telephone exchange of 5,000 lines started operation on Wednesday in Peshawar, says a press release .
Khyber Digital Exchange was equipped with all the latest facilities required for voice and data communication, Northern Telecommunication Region-I General-Manager Mohammad Akram Afridi stated during his visit to the exchange.
Mr Afridi said the PTCL had taken a number of steps to facilitate communications for meeting the new challenges in digital communication.
The digital exchange would provide better services to customers and also boost socio-economic activities in the city as CLI facility, PTCL calling card service, detailed billing and other value-added services were available with the exchange.
He said, new telephone connection charges had been reduced by 50 per cent and telephone shifting charges by 73 per cent. He urged people to benefit from the latest package announced by the PTCL, and get new telephone connections in 48 hours.
