Workers oppose PTI candidate in Bajaur

KHAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf suffered a setback in NA-41, Bajaur, after several party activists on Wednesday announced not to support its candidate Gul Zafar Khan in the July 25 general elections.

Addressing a press conference at Bajaur Press Club, scores of party workers, including Darwesh Khan and Khanpur Khan, presidents of PTI Warh Mamond and Lowi Mamond tehsils respectively, said that the decision to part ways with the party’s poll candidate, Gul Zafar, was taken during a meeting held here the other day.

They said that participants of the meeting expressed grave concern over the alleged misbehaviour of Gul Zafar and decided not to support him in the coming election. They claimed that majority of ideological workers of PTI in Warh and Lowi Mamond was unhappy over what they called "his bad attitude with them".

They said that the PTI candidate’s attitude changed after getting the party ticket, which had disappointed the workers.

They claimed that despite requests Gul Zafar refused to change his behaviour with the workers.

The PTI workers criticised the party candidate for ignoring senior workers in meetings and elections campaigns. They said that the candidate was relying on unknown people for his elections campaign instead of senior party workers. They said that this could affect his position in the general elections.
