Cases against PML-N, PTI workers

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Pirmahal city police registered on Wednesday cases against 21 PML-N activists under sections 16 of the MPO and sections 225,148,149,147,186 and 341 of the Pakistan Penal Code for allegedly attacking a police team and forcibly getting released an arrested union council chairman and PML-N leader Mian Naeem Hashim.

Police said when they arrested Mr Hashim on July 13 to restrain him from taking PML-N activists to Lahore to receive Nawaz Sharif at Lahore Airport, accused people attacked the police party and got him released from custody. No arrest has so far been made.

KASUR: The Khudian Police booked 16 PTI workers for attacking PML-N candidate for PP-176 Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan on Wednesday at village Veeram Hithar.

According to the police, Mr Khan with his supporters was in Reeram Hithar in connection with electioneering when 16 people, six of them nominated, opened fire at his procession and fled.

Police arrived at the spot and opened a case against former union council naib nazim Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Amin and 10 unidentified people.
