QUETTA, June 1: The parliamentary group of Pakistan Muslim League ministers and MPAs has decided to continue its boycott of the current session of the Balochistan Assembly till acceptance of their demands. The decision was taken at a meeting of the group held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Jafar Khan Mandokhel.

“We have decided to continue the boycott till our demands are accepted,” Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali told journalists after the meeting at the residence of Provincial Sports Minister Col (retd) Younus Changezi.

Mr Jamali said that the PML parliamentary group also decided that if their demands were not met, they would not take part in the preparation of next financial year’s Public Sector Development Programme.

Answering a question, he said that the senior minister and parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal in the Balochistan Assembly, Maulana Abdul Wasay, had contacted Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Abdul Rehman Jamali.

Another MMA minister, Maulana Faiz Mohammad, had also talked to the PML lawmakers who disliked the attitude of the MMA ministers towards the PML ministers and legislators, he added.

Mr Jamali said that the meeting had condemned the Karachi and Bari Imam incidents, viewed them as terrorist acts and demanded arrest of the culprits. The meeting also expressed sorrow over the Duki landmine blast that had claimed five lives, he added.

Those who had attended the meeting included ministers Mir Bakhtiar Khan Domki, Sher Jan Baloch and Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri and MPAs Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali, Dr Ruqayya Hashmi, Robina Irfan, Shabir Badeni, Shah Zaman Rind and Basant Lal Gulshan.

NIGERIAN ARRESTED: The Anti-Narcotics Force arrested a Nigerian national from Quetta airport on Tuesday on the charge of smuggling drugs to Dubai.

According to official sources, the Nigerian national, Sabastine Chikvandu, had come to the airport to take a PIA flight for Dubai.

The ANF staff suspected him to be involved in some illegal activity and took him away.

On search, 385 grams of heroin were recovered from secret cavities in his brief case.

A case was registered against him and further investigation was in progress.

Meanwhile, the Chagai Militia has seized 33 kilogrammes of drugs, including morphine and opium, in the Zardgan area of Chagai district.

Personnel of the militia raided the area on a tip off and seized drugs after an exchange of fire with smugglers.

However, the smugglers escaped in the hilly area leaving their motorcycle behind.

DIFFERENCES: The parliamentary leader of MMA in the Balochistan Assembly and Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay has denied differences among the coalition partners and said that all issues would be settled with dialogue. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday evening, he said, Muslim Leaguers were their friends and they would not take any decision against the coalition government.”

Replying to a question, he said that all ministers and MPAs of Muslim League would participate in the coming budget session and all their complaints against MMA would be resolved in the cabinet.

He said MMA would not take any step against present government as the Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf was running the affairs of the government in a better way. However, he said that if PML members and ministers had any complaint it would be resolved within the party.
