LAHORE, May 30: Leaders who had contested the 2002 elections on the tickets of the ruling party will also play their role in completing the membership targets like MNAs and MPAs. Those who did not take much interest in the drive would also be ignored by the party, Punjab PML Secretary-General Chaudhry Zaheeruddin said while speaking at a meeting here on Monday.

Party’s Lahore President Mian Munir, Secretary-General Sohail Butt, SVP Mian Shahbaz Ahmad, adviser Chaudhry Mohammad Siddique, MPAs Ahad Malik, Shoaib Siddiqui, Talib Sindhu, Malik Asad Khokhar, Khurram Rohail Asghar, Dr Nasir and Rana Muhammad Riaz also participated.

Zaheeruddin said the role in the membership drive would be the major yardstick for any member’s services to the party. Those giving a better performance would be encouraged while others would be ignored.

He said a party office would be set up in every union council of the city.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi is scheduled to meet party legislators from Bhakkar, Mianwali and Khushab districts on Tuesday.
