Verdict reserved in plea against Shahbaz

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A returning officer has reserved his decision till Tuesday (today) after hearing both sides over objections filed against the nomination of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif.

A local leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Dr Saeed Buzdar of NA-192, and former district bar association president Behram Buzdar of NA-191 filed separate objections to the nomination of the former chief minister over his alleged involvement in the Model Town case as well as corruption cases under way at the National Accountability Bureau.

On behalf of Mr Sharif, his legal team pleaded his innocence against the charges levelled by the petitioners.

The Leghari group of PML-N, led by chief of the Leghari tribe Jamal Leghari along with his younger brother Awais Leghari and Aleem Shah, was also present in the court.

The returning officer of NA-192, Majid Kareem, reserved his decision after hearing both sides.
