Tuition fee waived in govt schools

GILGIT, May 27: The Federal minister for Kashmir affairs who is the chief executive of the Northern Areas has declared that no tuition fee would be charged from students of government schools in the region. A notification issued in this regard would be effective from the current academic session for students of primary and secondary schools, Northern Areas Education Secretary Dr Imran Afzal Cheema told journalists.

Sources said the decision would benefit over 238,082 stdents and encourage enrolment in schools.
