Sindh Police dethrone SNGPL from Naya Nazimabad event

KARACHI: Reigning champions Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) made early exit from the Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup T20 cricket competition when Sindh Police sealed a 44-run victory at the Lawai Cricket Stadium on Saturday night.

Shaharyar Ghani and spinners Farooq Hasan and Raza-ul-Hasan starred in their team’s triumph as SNGPL capitulated to a third successive defeat.

Batting first, Sindh Police recovered from 56-4 to collect 122-7 with Shaharyar scoring a fighting 61 (six boundaries and two sixes).

SNGPL, in reply, were dismissed for only 76. Khurram Shehzad made 20 with two sixes and as many fours.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Hussain Talat went for ducks while Asif Ali made only one and Test discard Iftikhar Ali got 13. Raza got three wickets for 12 runs and leg-spinner Farooq got 3-18.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Customs whipped Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) by eight wickets thanks to fine all-round show by Hafiz Asad Baig, who scored 56 off 58 balls with three fours and two sixes before bagging two wickets.
