PESHAWAR, May 26: A meeting of the Standing Committee on Law Reforms and Subordinate Legislation held a comparative study of the Privileges Act of the National Assembly and all provincial assemblies and reviewed the NWFP Assembly (Powers, Immunities and Privileges) Act 1988 and suggested improvements in it.
Chairman of the committee Abdul Akbar Khan presided over the meeting, which was held in the Conference Room of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Thursday. The committee reviewed the North-West Frontier Province Provincial Assembly (Powers, Immunities and Privileges) Act 1988 and suggested improvements, amendments and deletions for uniformity’s sake. Various proposals regarding rules prevailing in the departments and the Constitution were debated during the meeting. —APP
