Training for teachers

SHEIKHUPURA, May 23: The government was preparing a plan to impart special training to teachers regarding the new methods of education at 64,000 schools in Punjab. Governor Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbool (retired) said this while speaking at a prize-distribution ceremony held at the National Model School here on Monday.

Deploring poor standard of education in the district, he said the grants for the purpose had now been doubled and government was taking every possible measure to improve the situation.

The governor distributed prizes and shields among the students of the school for their outstanding performance in academic and other activities.

The Principal, Ms Meer, in her welcome address said that the institution was providing quality education to its students with the help of modern facilities.

The students who got prizes and shields included Aleena Munir, Aal-e-Muhammad, Muhammad Hussain Rafay, Sara Farooqi, Seemab, Umar, Aamna Iqbal, Hira Ashfaq, Qudsia Sultan and Hassan Afzal.
