LARKANA, May 22: A police contingent came under intense firing from outlaws in the Sono Jatoi village on Sunday resulting in the death of two constables. The police party from Taluka police station, with four mobiles, was on its way to recover Shama Jatoi, detained by her husband Mumtaz Jatoi, in the Sono Jatoi village.
The recovery orders had been issued by the District and Sessions Judge, Larkana, Mr Anwar Azam Baloch.
The deceased constables were identified as Shaukat Ali Bugti and Riazat Korkani.
The DPO Larkana, Dr Sain Rakhiyo Mirani, with a heavy police force, chased the outlaws but they crossed the River Indus and moved into Khairpur district.
However in a search operation police picked up around 20 villagers including three women — Ms Allah Wasaee, Ms Karman and Ms Hamidan — and kept them at an undisclosed places.
Bodies of the deceased were shifted to the police headquarters and later buried in their villages.
Meanwhile, the villagers including women protested against police highhandedness and said that they had broken into their houses and taken away valuables after harassing the womenfolk.
