DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 19: The incident of the arrest of four alleged terrorists by the Sakhi Sarwar police from the local airport has taken a twist when the airport authorities deny after a day any such happening. The Sakhi Sarwar police had claimed on Wednesday to have arrested four alleged terrorists from the Dera Ghazi Khan airport on a piece of information provided by the airport authorities.
SHO Ziaul Haq also claimed that the suspects had links with the Baloch Liberation Army. Those arrested were identified as Yousaf, Ghulam Rasool, Naseem and Imdad, who were brought to the district police office late at night for investigation.
When contacted, airport manager Irshad told this correspondent on Thursday that the airport authorities had provided no such information to police about the suspects.
He claimed that he had sent a report about misunderstanding to the higher authorities in Islamabad.
DPO Sulaiman Chaudhry was not available for comments. Meanwhile, the police have obtained remand of the suspects.
It is pertinent to mention here that the district police are still clueless about five sabotage acts which took place in the district in February and March.
