GUJRANWALA, May 19: Three people, including two cousins, were shot dead by their rivals over a litigation row in Garjakh here on Thursday. Reports said Faryad, his cousin Babar and guard Khan Muhammad were present at their sweet shop when Tariq, Majid, Sajid, Rasheed along with two accomplices came and opened fire, killing them on the spot. Ishaq, the brother of Faryad, sustained injures and was admitted to hospital.
Garjakh police have registered a case and are investigating.
TWO HELD: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two dacoits during an ‘encounter’ here in Ladhewala Warriach with the help of villagers.
Reports said the police set up a picket following information that some outlaws were fleeing after looting passers-by near the village. When the police tried to intercept them, the accused riding a motorcycle (LRS-3637) opened fire. In the meantime, villagers reached the spot and chased the dacoits along with the police.
The police succeeded in arresting two of them who were identified as Muhammad Javed and Muhammad Yaqoob of Gulberg Town, Rawalpindi. Their third accomplice managed to escape.
Police recovered illicit arms and looted goods.
STABBED TO DEATH: A landlord was stabbed to death by his rivals over a land dispute at Phaloki village, Wazirabad on Thursday.
Reports said Muhammad Farooq was present at his outhouse when Zafar and Nasir came there along with their accomplices. They attacked him with knives following an exchange of hot words. Farooq died on the spot.
