Sindh to set up another centre for autistic children
KARACHI: A senior provincial government official on Monday said the government was establishing a second centre of autism in May in the city’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar neighbourhood.
“This centre would be dedicated for the children up to the age of 18 years affected [by] autism,” said provincial secretary for special education Ahsan Mangi while addressing an autism awareness session held at the Arag auditorium.
The event was organised by the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre of the Dow University of Health Sciences.
He said the act for the bequeathal and other such legal rights for those affected children would also be passed by the Sindh Assembly before July this year. He said the autism centre would provide education and vocational training.
