WASHINGTON, May 18: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf chief Imran Khan has demanded a UN-led investigation into the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran at a US prison. US authorities have rejected the allegation as incorrect and Newsweek magazine, which reported the allegation last week, has since withdrawn its story, admitting that it was not properly checked before publication.

While apologizing for printing an incorrect story, Newsweek also blamed Imran Khan for triggering the political firestorm raging in the Islamic world.
