Gujranwala DC’s postmortem reveals injuries

GUJRANWALA: The postmortem report reveals several marks of injuries the deputy commissioner suffered.

“There were 14 spots of injuries on the body of the deputy commissioner. Eleven of those were found around the neck and three on both wrists,” says the report which was issued on Friday.

A five-member District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital medical board headed by acting medical superintendent Dr Gulzar Ahmad conducted the postmortem of Suhail Ahmad Tipu and also sent tissues of the body to Lahore for laboratory analysis.

Dr Gulzar had earlier indicated that it was not a suicide. Tipu’s uncle Tahir Akram had a murder case registered with the Civil Lines police. The law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) are waiting for the report of Lahore’s forensic lab.

Punjab IGP Arif Nawaz Khan formed an inquiry committee headed by Multan RPO Mian Idrees and it is still working on it.

UNHYGIENIC GHEE: Manufacturers of unhygienic desi ghee are working with impunity in Gakkhar Mandi, where people have demanded that the higher-ups take notice. There are complaints about a lack of check on manufacture of adulterated desi ghee being sold in chemical drums.

SECURITY: The district police have unveiled a security plan for Easter.

City Police Officer Ashfaq Ahmad Khan told reporters that 3,000 personnel and five Elite Force teams would be deputed for the security of Easter programmes. He said 60 programmes would be held in the city.

The use of loudspeakers and display of arms are banned and the Dolphin Force would also be deployed for security.
